Limerick Printmakers Studio and Gallery are delighted to announce their 10th annual Winter Members Show for 2009. The launch will be at 8pm Thursday 3rd December and all are welcome.
This year Limerick Printmakers members will be presenting work with a difference. All work will be priced at either €100 or €200. The prints will be sold straight off the wall during the opening and for the duration of the show, so prints can be taken home immediately! And don’t worry if your favourite is gone already, as prints are editioned there will be more available.
The winter exhibition showcases the variety of work made at the Robert Street studios during the year. The work on show will be selected from over 50 studio members and will showcase the best of printmaking in the mid west region. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire work by Limericks top printmakers such as Des Mac Mahon, Gavin Hogg, Suzannah O’Reilly, Clare Gilmour, Eithne Deloughry O’Byrne, Niall Naessens, Mary O’Dea, Fiona Quill, Mike Byrne, Dave Lilburn, Alan Crowley, Aidan Kelleher, Dan Kenny, Meg Kenny, Karen Coill, Margaret Becker, Desmond Mc Loughlin, Marisol Marquez, Mary Meskell, Mike Counahan, Laura Rico and many more.
Photo etchings, collographs, silkscreens, woodcuts and monoprints are among the different types of prints on show, along with digital and photographic print. This variety is also reflected in the themes of the prints with contemplative landscapes to modern imaginative and abstract works. Printmaking is a very affordable way to buy art of high quality and of a collectable nature. Many of our members have exhibited nationally and internationally and are represented in the best public and private collections.
A highlight of the opening will be the launch of the 2009 ‘Friends of Limerick Printmakers Scheme’. This special sponsorship scheme gives the general public the opportunity to directly support Limerick Printmakers and facilitate the arts in Limerick. Scheme participants donate €250 for one year to the studio and in return receive a Box Set of 10 limited edition prints by current studio members, 10% discount on all art works purchased from the gallery and invitations to all exhibitions and events held at the gallery. This years Box Set will be available from the opening night onwards.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday 11am to 5.30pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm.
