LIMERICK Printmakers Studio and Gallery is currently showing an exhibition of original fine art prints by Polish artist Monika Meler. ‘The Distance Between’, which runs at the Robert Street gallery until June 10, explores the invented landscapes and events that are components of cherished memories of childhood. Monika was born in Brodinca, Poland and immigrated to the United States in 1990. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art Degree in Printmaking from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.
She continued to pursue Printmaking at Purdue University, where she received a Master of Arts Degree. Meler has participated in various national and international exhibitions including the Lessedra World Print Annual in Bulgaria and Sixty Square Inches, an international printmaking exhibition. Her work is in numerous collections including the Academy of Fine Art in Poznan, Poland and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Recently, she completed an artist residency with the Cork Printmakers where she also taught a relief printmaking workshop. Monika Meler’s exhibition is now on show at Limerick Printmakers until June 10. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 5.30pm and 10am to 4pm on Saturday.
